The MCU Is Already Showing Red Hulk"s Weakness Even Before He Appears

Trailers have displayed some of the Red Hulk"s incredible power in Captain America: Brave New World, but his biggest weakness in the MCU might have already been teased. Harrison Ford will be making his MCU debut as Thaddeus Ross in Captain America: Brave New World, taking over from the late William Hurt to explore Ross" election to the role of President of the United States and his transformation into the Red Hulk. This will introduce a formidable and seemingly-unbeatable villain opposite Anthony Mackie"s Sam Wilson, but Red Hulk has one huge weakness.
The Red Hulk was first confirmed to be joining the cast of Captain America: Brave New World in the movie"s first teaser trailer back in July. An official trailer for Captain America: Brave New World, released on November 9, revealed more about the Red Hulk"s upcoming power set in the MCU. Red Hulk is set to bring some of his most iconic abilities from Marvel Comics into live-action for the first time ever, raising concerns that the new Captain America may not be strong enough to take him on, but this might not be the case.
Red Hulk's Powers Explained The Red Hulk Is More Powerful Than Bruce Banner Close The Red Hulk first appeared in Marvel Comics in 2008"s Hulk #1, and showed off a power set on a much larger scope than Bruce Banner"s Hulk. As well as being completely unhinged yet retaining his military-based, tactical intelligence, the Red Hulk has the typical strength of a Hulk while also harnessing heat-based abilities. The angrier Thaddeus Ross becomes, the more heat he releases from his body, allowing the Red Hulk to become hot enough to melt sand into glass. This ability has already been teased for the Red Hulk in the MCU.
Captain America: Brave New World"s trailers have shown that President Thaddeus Ross" transformation into the Red Hulk will be followed by a huge amount of destruction. He can be seen surrounded by fire and sparks, suggesting some great explosion may have emanated from his own body. He also creates scorch marks on the presidential podium when placing his hand on it, and the Red Hulk punching Captain America"s shield in the poster for the Phase 5 movie otherwise-inexplicably creates sparks. The Red Hulk"s heat powers are very exciting for the MCU, but come with a major weakness.
Captain America: Brave New World Is Already Teasing Red Hulk's One Major Weakness The Red Hulk Isn't Without His Weaknesses In Marvel Comics, when the Red Hulk"s anger rises, his body temperature does, too, but when this becomes too intense, it actually weakens him. This effectively depowers him the more angry he becomes, which presents a major weakness for Harrison Ford"s character in the MCU. While questions have been raised about Sam Wilson"s ability to defeat the immense power of the Red Hulk, it seems Captain America: Brave New World may have already explained the best way to bring the new Hulk to his knees: get him angry and tire him out.
Captain America: Brave New World FantasyAdventureAction Captain America: Brave New World (formerly titled New World Order) marks Sam Wilson's first MCU big-screen appearance as Steve Rogers' successor after receiving the suit and shield in Phase 4's The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Anthony Mackie returns as the titular Avenger alongside Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres, Carl Lumby as Isaiah Bradley, and Tim Blake Nelson as The Incredible Hulk's former ally Samuel Sterns. Harrison Ford makes his MCU debut replacing the late William Hurt as Thaddeus Ross.
